FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The quintessential Japanese businessman, Reigen wears cheap suits, cheap cologne and smells perpetually of faded cigarettes, lemon-y boozes and exotic incense. Among the colorful cast of characters in Kenos, he is an everyman; blonde hair, dark eyes, he has an expressive face and talkative hands that serve as a character tic as much as they do a distractive influence in certain situations. He oozes sleeze at first look, and the unlucky who allow him to open his mouth may soon find themselves caught in the undertow of his chatty, vibrant personality and subtle mentalism manipulations. At 5'8"/179cm, he's not at all physically intimidating - slightly underweight, visually underwhelming - it is his mental acumen and fearlessness amidst all that, which allows him to ball with the heavyweights in Kenos.

SHARD

Made of pink halite, Reigen's shard is a small, tear-drop shaped item centered just below his sternum that follows the shape of his ribcage. It resembles a roughened, faintly-illuminated Himalayan rock salt lamp, measuring at about 1.5"/3.81cm.

ASPECT TATTOO

The eight-pointed mark of the Stargazer is, much like Reigen's shard, a more subtle affair than one might expect. It takes up space on the inside of his wrist, just below the ball of his thumb, like a teenage girl's first-ever tattoo. Despite its small size, it is unmistakably sharp and easy to recognize, especially when he goes to shake hands with anyone and everyone.

NORMAL SKILLS

Like, basically none to speak of. Reigen is a mundane human in a world where there is a subset of human beings with psychic and spiritual abilities. He is largely reliant on the abilities of others, including his employees - both psychics - and his own knowledge of How People Function.

MEDIUMSHIP. After being infused with Mob's power - becoming "Reigen - 1000%" while dealing with the 7th Division Scars, Reigen was left with the ability to see spirits and otherworldly entities. He can't interact with them, or exorcise them, which is the basis for his entire business, but he definitely can see and communicate with them.

MENTALISM. As a conman, Reigen's predominant skillset involves mentalism, a performative art that he utilizes in order to appear as though he has highly developed mental or intuitive abilities. He's a textbook fraud, utilizing a combination of refined intuition, subliminal communication, emotional intelligence, reading of body language, behavioral science, psychology, straight-up LYING, and theatre/special effects to represent himself as a premiere psychic in a world where psychics are actually real. He's a skilled manipulator, with his most powerful asset being his charisma and mental fortitude; he does not ruffle easily, always crunching options and executing plans on the fly, even when facing down individuals and entities far more powerful than him.

JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES. Truly, this is a guy who's acquired a lot of different skills that he uses to support his lies and wriggle out of a lot of Bad Situations. Apparently he knows martial arts, the masseur trade, general salaryman things like how to balance a checkbook and use a computer, and a bunch of stupid techniques he comes up with on the fly that generally involve using his flailing around as a type of combat style. If it exists, he probably has dabbled in it, and nobody is surprised when he walks up saying 'oh yeah i can drive a car' or 'hey i have [insert esoteric knowledge here] skill' -- likely, he took a correspondance course, can bluff his way into making people believe he possesses the skill, or genuinely has it for some odd reason. He can apparently shoot a gun as well, and has no issue attempting to put a bullet in an adult who was threatening his student.

And if he doesn't know it, his ability to lie is so good that he could likely convince several people he's got game where he has none. It's not an 'ability', per se, as the fact that his convictions are airtight.

HARMONIZATION ABILITIES

Communion. Reigen is able to connect his mind to other Shard-Bearers in order to share thoughts, images, memories and emotions with them. This ability is strongest with others of the Stargazer aspect.

Teleportation. As a Shard-Bearer, Reigen is able to transmit his physical body between established Cornerstones upon any island.

Purification. Able to arrest and purge the spread of Discord within another Shard-Bearer, Reigen is notably drawn to individuals of the Advocate & Exalt aspects and would exacerbate the Discord in individuals who are a part of the Iconoclast aspect.

Spells. Spells gained through harmonization are not limited by spell slots, but do cause some amount of Discord buildup when used. Tier 1 spells increase Discord by only a minor amount when used, but higher tier spells cause Discord to build up faster. Reigen currently has access to [3] Tier 1 spells.

— Heroism. A willing creature you touch is imbued with bravery. For one minute, the creature is immune to being frightened.

— Shield. An invisible barrier of magical force appears and protects you for one minute. The shield will protect you from one attack, at which point it immediately shatters and cannot be cast again for ten minutes.

— Silent Image. You create the image of an object, a creature, or some other visible phenomenon that is no larger than a 15-foot/4.6 meters cube. The image appears at a spot within 60 feet/18 meters and lasts for the duration. The image is purely visual; it isn't accompanied by sound, smell, or other sensory effects.

You can cause the image to move to any spot you can see. As the image changes location, you can alter its appearance so that its movements appear natural for the image. For example, if you create an image of a creature and move it, you can alter the image so that it appears to be walking.

Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it.

Physical Violence: He's a squishy normie who has survived based solely on tenacity and dumb luck. Violence is pretty commonplace in his canon, especially adult-on-adult, adult-on-teen and teen-on-teen superpowered violence. Characters are welcome to fuck his shit up for any number of reasons; he's ( supposedly ) got a green-belt in kung-fu, knows how to throw a punch and will not hesitate to shoot someone in defense of another if he has to. Otherwise, he's fairly keen on avoiding combat by either running, or talking his way out of it.

Death/Dissipation: I hope he becomes Kenos's #1 Guy Who's Died/Dissipated The Most.

Physical Affection: Being affectionate is part-and-parcel of his character! Reigen may cite that his actions are strictly professional, but he definitely is an affectionate person who has put on so many masks, he's even able to lie to himself about the reasons for it. Receiving affection is not manly.

Shipping/Sex: I play him as ruthlessly bisexual and massively incapable.
