BUILD: Broad shoulders, narrow waist; slightly underweight. Moderately athletic, since he picked up running!

AFFECTION: Being affectionate is part-and-parcel of his character! Reigen may cite that his actions are strictly professional, but he definitely is an affectionate person who has put on so many masks, he's even able to lie to himself about the reasons for it. Known to take his apprentice out for cheap meals on a tight budget, providing guidance and safe spaces for emotionally-troubled teenagers, protecting those same superpowered teenagers with his unpowered body and life, and ultimately caring for people are the primary ways that he shows his affection. He's not much of a kisser or hugger, but tough-guy claps on the shoulder and back are part of his moveset; he's a guy who shows he cares in small ways.

RELATIONSHIPS: As a conman, Reigen has the guile to make people believe that they are the center of his world. He's a skilled mentalist, capable of convincing others of his unique and complete ability to make their lives better, that they are quintessentially vital to his existence -- and likely, he's capable of doing that with romantic and platonic relationships as well. He's been interpreted by fandom as gay or asexual, and largely married to his business's success; because of his nature, it's a slippery slope to attempt a relationship with him beyond casual commitment, save for in the spirit of mutual professional benefit. While he is capable of genuine relationships ( see: Mob, Serizawa, Tome, etc. ), he also firmly believes that people are uninterested in the "real" him and would ditch him in a heartbeat for someone authentic.

I play him as ruthlessly bi, pretty much ace and massively incapable.

VIOLENCE: He's a squishy normie who has survived based solely on tenacity and dumb luck. Violence is pretty commonplace in his canon, especially adult-on-adult, adult-on-teen and teen-on-teen superpowered violence. Characters are welcome to fuck his shit up for any number of reasons; he's ( supposedly ) got a green-belt in kung-fu, knows how to throw a punch and will not hesitate to shoot someone in defense of another if he has to. Otherwise, he's fairly keen on avoiding combat by either running, or talking his way out of it.

Reigen's most important power is his ~~psychic ability~~ mentalism, which is strongly reliant on conversation, reading body language and intuition. It isn't magical in any capacity, but is the culmination of his attentiveness towards other characters and how they function as an individual.

I tend to do external research of my own, reading applications, in-game threads and wikis on characters that are present, in order to tailor his mentalism to be a unique look at every character. Who doesn't like to feel that their blorbo is being paid attention to, very intimately! However, I can't be effective through my research alone, as everyone writes a different variation of a character ( and OCs, in fact, are an entire other beast ) -- so, I have a little Q&A for y'all!

I. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the easiest and 10 being the hardest, how difficult do you feel your character is to cold read? ( <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_reading">What is cold reading?</a> ) II. Are you comfortable with me looking through your application, any wiki knowledge, character survey and/or threads for TANGIBLE information that could be used in a cold read? I am not looking for historical or biographical information, as he's not a REAL psychic. If there's anything you want to draw attention to or have specifically hidden, lmk too! III. Write some things about how YOU write your blorbo! What habits do they have? Vices? Is there a particular tone they use for particular types of people? How good are they at holding eye contact? What body language do they have, and what does it mean to you?
Think of it as a Survey 2.0, screened solely for me. I'll never reply to the comment so you can edit and update to your heart's content. I also keep my own notes, so please let me know if you'd like to OPT-OUT of any of this at all, too! The goal is not to learn your characters' innermost secrets.
